Man is instinctively selfish.Yes! We all are.We all want the best for ourselves. It is unnatural not to.We live our lives hoping that the best would come to us rather than someone else. Even when we wish others well, we wish the best for ourselves. I'd rather be a billionaire and help the poor than being poor and have a billionaire help me.
Life has its balance so sometimes the best do not come to us.It goes to someone else.In some cases,it goes to our friends. We are more inclined to become jealous when something really good happens for our friend(a good job, good spouse, a good house etc).It is not because we are evil or wicked. It is simply because no one wants to be left behind. We want our friends to progress and we desire progress for ourselves also.We understand that the world tend to judge us based on the standards and achievements of our friends and contemporaries. That is why no one is jealous of someone who is a stranger to them or one they aren't close to.
So typically, when something great happens for your friend, everyone around them rejoices and are often times, happy for them.Shortly after your congratulatory messages, the pangs of jealousy begin to hit you.You wonder how it seem you are being left behind. You scrutinize your life and wonder how it would have been great that it was you it happened to.Everyone does a good job of concealing those pangs of jealousy so as not to appear bad.It isn't because you are bad,It is your instinct reminding you that you wish yourself well.Problem only begins when you think they should loose it because your do not have it. Such was the birthplace of witchcraft. #letusbreakbread #thebreadbreaker #thepangsofjealousy
