The representative of Ilaje Constituency 1 in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Prince Abayomi Akinrutan has defected to the rulling APC in Ondo State alongside ten former PDP leaders who had served the immediate former Governor in different capacities.
Prince Akinrutan believed that the government of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has the people in mind in view of the Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) recently signed by NDDC and ODSG.
He revealed this to news men at the press briefings which took place at the Cocoa Conference hall, Akure.
He said “We are convinced beyond reasonable doubt that this government is a good one, which is why we are decamping to APC.”
He also believed that more members would decamp from other party because of the leadership style of the governor.
While receiving the decampees on behalf of the state governor Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, the SSG to the state government, Hon. Sunday Abegunde affirmed that a big fish, Abayomi Akinrutan has just been defected to the party.
Speaking further, Abegunde described the 10 leaders as the right thinking and progressive politicians whose contributions to the party will be invaluable. Stressing that, the present administration welcomes every discerning mind that will contribute to the development of the state through All the Progressive Party platform in all transformational strides.
