alleges a fake marriage mediator
extorted from her while pretending to
act as an intermediary between her
and her husband.
38-year-old Elar Chataika accused 35-
year-old Krainis Mukwasi of lying on
several occasions over a long period
of time that he was in contact with
her husband with the aim of
reconciling them.
Elar was desperate to get back with
her husband, who is based in South
Africa, after she learned that he had
found a girlfriend there and was
living with her.
Elar further alleged that the fake
cupid man tricked her into having a
relationship with him for his own
benefit. She added Krainis' lies
emerged when her husband's friends
got in touch with him and found the
two had never been in contact.
Elar's husband is due to appear as a
witness in court. The case is still
ongoing. Many Zimbabweans have
been left bewildered as to how Elar
fell for Krainis' lies.
