DEMOCRACY OR BOUNDAGE

In 1900 the British Empire took over Nigeria, it is a dolorous and nefarious thing but nothing to do than to concur, due to shortage of power; 1903 British conquered most of the Nigeria including the Sokoto Caliphate.

1911 sir Fredrick Lord Lugard became the first Governor general, in 1912 Lord Lugard established a system of indirect rule, Lagos colony, Northern and southern protectorate were amalgamated to form Nigeria in 1914; 1919 Lord Lugard regime was elapse, sir Huge Cliford came to power being the 2nd Governor General in Nigeria, 20th September 1923 Nigeria National Democratic Party {N.N.D.P} was created and the first political election conducted.

Sir creamer Thompson came to power as the third governor general in 1925, {sir Donald Kingdom became the sixth chief Justice in 1929} sir Donald Cameron the forth governor general from 1931 – 1935, sir Bernard Bourdillion the fifth governor general in 1935, sir Authur Richard the sixth governor general in 1945, sir John Macpherson the seventh governor general between 1945, and James Robertson, the eight and last British governor general in between 1958 – 1960.

Although in 1953 Anthony Enahoro make a move for Nigeria independence but was honored in 1960; Nigeria was aver as an independence state in 1960, British union Jack was lowered, the British empire delivered power to the northern protectorate due to their compliance to the Empire, Nigeria make use of parliamentary system of government in 1960, as Tafawa Balewa became prime minister and Nnamdi Azikiwe the president, also the first senate president.

October 1,1960 cannot be forgotten in Nigeria, is a sorrowful day of self govern  but thought to be ecstasy; though the sorrow did not start in 1960 but 1914 when Nigeria was Amalgamated with many ethnics.

1914 achievement brings equanimity and serenity
But full of unknown insanity and calamity
Living were enslaved
But thought they were saved
Drudge for greed
But thought they free

Arrival of self govern brings obnoxious
But thought to be harmonious
Many years of instability and insecurity
Make living realize they live in severity
People admit khaki govern to be nefarious
But to be frank civilian ruling is dolorous
Khaki rule by force
Civilian rule by choice

Nation to be seemly
 Becomes gloomily
We caused it, we voted pilferer
Who despoil our Naira
For own burial and funeral
